I was surprised at how pleasant the interior was given the scaffolding outside. The historical bicycles etcetera were intriguing as was the lovely van in the quadrangle. I had no idea what to expect from the hotel and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I would stay there again.

Liked: The room was in a quiet spot; clean and the reception staff very helpful.
Disliked: No. All good.

Breakfast left a lot to be desired.

Liked: Replacement room was much better. Receptionist very helpful and polite.
Disliked: First room was very claustrophobic and unsafe as there was window access to flat roof.

Liked: Rooms were clean, bright and airy. I liked that the room had tea and coffee making facility with a good supply of tea and coffee. It was nice to see decaf coffee as an option as well. Disliked: I booked a twin room and asked for a courtyard room as I have mobility issues. When we went to the room, it was a double, not a twin.When we went back to let the member of staff know of the error and we requested another room, we did explain that I had mobility issues and asked for a room that didn't involve much of a walk. However the alternative room was upstairs and quite a way along, which I had great difficulty walking to so.

Good for an affordable city...

Liked: Modern, clean, comfortable room in courtyard. Good WiFi. Convenient for central Gloucester.
Disliked: Walls paper thin - could hear someone’s sport channel until 2am!

Cheapish, but mouldy and hugely...

Liked: Room a good size, quiet. Shower worked well, towels and bedding fine. Coffee, fridge, microwave and wifi all good.
Disliked: Heaps of damp smell in the room (and visible mould) which was less than ideal. Otherwise hotel clearly no longer being appropriately invested in, and is currently in disrepair. Public areas have plaster fallen/falling off the wall, paint peeling, smashed in window in the stairs boarded up. Don't be fooled by the fancy bar downstairs, the rest of the hotel is completely different.Staff very friendly though.

Perfectly fine but a little...

Liked: Exactly as we expected. Prime location with easy check in. Staff were friendly and efficient and the room was ideal. Perfectly clean with the “normal” facilities. Maybe a tad expensive but there is no real competition for hotels in Gloucester city centre to drive the prices down. Other than that it was ideal and would definitely book again.
