Beautifully renovated historic hotel!

Liked: The hotel is centrally located, and the renovation is excellent. All finishes are top notch, and the public lounge areas very nice. Food and drinks at the restaurant and bar are great. Especially the crispy potatoes. The renovation really stands out. Even vintage-looking seating feels brand new, and the finishes and hardware all felt premium.
Disliked: There was a minor issue with the original room key but it was resolved quickly.

Lovely hotel, well located, great...

Liked: The historic hotel is beautiful and centrally located close to food and shopping in downtown Nevada City. The staff was excellent and the amenities (coffee, water, and muffins available every morning in the Grand Lounge) were very nicely done.
Disliked: The room was well appointed but the hot water in the shower was closer to warm than hot. And keep in mind an historic hotel means in the Winter it is drafty and the rooms can be chilly.

Disliked: Our hotel room was assigned the wrong room number in the system and a hotel staff member walked into our room in the middle of the night not realizing there were occupants.
