Hotel Description
The Muthu Oban Hotel is prominently located at the head of Oban's north pier and is close to the main shops. It is also ideal for those who wish to take a steamer cruise or ferry to one of the many islands. The Regent externally is a combination of a Victorian private hotel with an almost perfect example of 1930's Art Deco design. Internally both buildings merge to provide an open and airy ambiance with an array of well positioned public foyers and lounges. As a town center hotel the Regent cannot offer private parking although there is ample on-street parking on the adjacent pier. This 'disadvantage' does however mean that Oban's many shops the distillery the ferry terminals and stations are all within easy walking distance.

Liked: Staff very friendly and helpful.Very good value. Bed was decent and the bathroom was modern and clean.
Disliked: Low quality refurbishment in places, especially the downstairs bathrooms.We were told we had a sea-view room, but got a view of a derelict plot of land with lots of trash. Windows had open gaps where droughts came through.The room was still warm, but it must be terribly inefficient and lets in lots of noise from the street and surrounding pubs.Lighting was extremely bright and not dimmable.
