Lovely location, historic
Liked: It was quaint and had history
Disliked: We didn't realise the bed was two single beds joined together. It explains the big valley in the middle.

Not what we expected. Very...
Liked: The rooms were ok and the view from the rooms was very nice.
Disliked: The place closed at 5pm on a Friday. The owner was pretty rude about it and said we would have been told. I enquirer about meals and he said abruptly “We are Closed”. I asked if we could order a cab to Mundaring town. He sad “I dont think you guys know where you Are. We are out in the sticks” Basically implying good luck!. There was no offer even to purchase take away beers… luckily we had a few on hand. We managed to catch an $85 Uber into Mundaring. Best Tip. Stay in Mundaring Town. The Hotel was superb and we had a great night. They even arranged a free courtesy bus ride for the 5 of us back out to Mundaring Weir. We cut our losses and didnt stay the 2nd night. Locals warned us even though he said it would be open. He would most likely close at the drop a hat and we would find ourselves in the same situation. WE went home a day early.

I recommend it to everyone!...
Liked: Given I am a nature buff and like my space and privacy away from people, this was perfect. I was able to explore to my hearts content and enjoy nature and have my peace and quiet. The owner was awesome to speak to. He has been there for a long time and was a wealth of knowledge. I recommend doing lots of exploring around the hotel, up to the weir and take in nature.
Disliked: The hotel is a little outdated in facilities, but I actually liked that, and it appealed to me given the nature thing and location.

A disappointing waste of money.
Liked: This place was probably amazing 20 years ago when the staff cared.
Disliked: Greeted by surly staff who disappeared inadvertently for several minutes during the process of check in. The other staff were rude when we queried why it was taking so long. We were told they needed our detail in case the police were looking for us! Amazing location, but the property is clearly a shadow of its former self, with walls collapsing, overgrown and children’s scooters scattered all over the paths. The room was dirty and had some form of rodent living in it. The housekeeper came into the room without knocking in the morning.
