Exceptional

Liked: The checkin was seamless and the front desk team were lovely. Explaining benefits of the hotel and chocolate hour.The location is unbeatable and I truly enjoyed my one night stay here. Comfy bed and great pressure in the shower. Good view of the harbour and I didn't hear much noise although I did not stay on a weekend.
Disliked: The room was a little small but very clean. I hate all manner of lights on TVS and the Aircon panel however so I had to use tape to dim these. As a word of warning if you are light sensitive like I am.

Comfortable stay. Very convenient for...

Liked: Spacious room.Near the harbour & ferry, restaurants, supermarkets, public transport.Did not book breakfast but liked the free chocolate hour at 3 pm.
Disliked: No hooks in bathroom for clothes.Check in was too late at 3pm(especially disembarking very early from the cruise ship).No parking available for guests. Parking at side of building in the lane for loading luggage only.

Ok, nice hotel but room...

Liked: We got shifted to the so/ which was ok, service was understaffed and rooms smelled of damp but otherwise ok
Disliked: Damp and staff were flustered

Superb

Liked: Everything was good. Room was a bit small but very well laid out. Everything we needed. Location of hotel is fantastic as very central. Views of the tower and harbour are great. Everywhere is walkable from the hotel. Breakfasts good too.

Disappointing. Will not repeat

Liked: Location
Disliked: Room was not clean, bathroom door did not close properly, manager defensive and unfriendly, receptionist incompetent, breakfast provided for excursion cheap and inedible. Breakfast in hotel passable but not 5 star.Chocolate hour included Cadburys chocolate which is poor quality chocolate in a Movenpick hotel! Ridiculous! If they had run out of chocolate could have walked over to Movenpick cafe to get more.I have stayed in a Movenpick hotel in Thailand that was 5 star and was excellent. This hotel is 3 star or less due to low standards of staff and is damaging the Movenpick reputation. I would not stay here again. I feel v disappointed and that I paid too much for this hotel.
