Great value , basic but...

Liked: A classic gorgeous quirky decor, furniture and fittings from a bygone era. Needs some remodelling/ redecorating such as peeling wallpaper but I sense they will work on this over time. The bed was super comfy, the sheets hotel quality and the room very spacious with lots of storage. There was a spa bath but I didn’t try it. The shower was hot and good pressure but spraying water . I had to ask for wine glasses and milk via messages on booking.com as reception has quite limited hours so arrived next day. Parking tight if hotel full but it’s free and there’s a nice view. Quick drive to everything. Heating is poor - cheap electric heater didn’t do much in such a big room so would be uncomfortable mid winter and electric blanket on only one side of the bed. No sharp knife in kitchen ( why is this so common?) and fridge didn’t work very well ( our freezer packs were liquid in the freezer). Great value for money, all being said and close to everything. I would def come back but bring a knife, a wheat bag and check you’ve got basic needs before reception closes.

Disliked: outdated, little far from the main areas if you don't have a car although there was a bus nearby if you were walking, walking up the hill was a bit of a mission at times especially with luggage
