Good value for price, pretty...

Liked: Clean, good location in between Santa Cruz and Monterey but with more affordable pricing. Very good value for the price.
Disliked: Blankets were a bit too thin and it was cold. The pillow could have been a little more comfortable, but it was still pleasant to sleep here.

Liked: It's in a good area and it's a okay hotel but the staff especially the main fat girl that works in the morning with a lisp, she is the main issue, all the staff is wonderful and sweet but one morning I was accused of "harassing" and annoying one of their staff members and they would refuse to provide proof and or camera footage and I had all my proof showing that I was out of town during the time they said it happened and that it was not me but they ended up putting me on a ban list and so far it seems they won't refund me for the last 2 days I weren't able to stay there :/

Liked: the view, the easy access via freeway, the adjacent facilities (a few with extended hrs), the complimemtary coffee in the office / front desk, the price, the staff, the retro modern basic comfortable room.
Disliked: this is my second review, and i can't really complain about anything! besides, what would i be criticizing but my unrealistic expectations of what should be included in the 'service' a hotel / motel provides...? if, rather, one focuses on the baseline standard that any hotel / motel ought to provide and let go of what extra perks other establishments have decided are wise investments to actively build their client base, i would rate this Motel 6 at a 10! i needed a place that was not home (i am local), clear of my life's debris so i could focus on a few specific and time sensitive tasks. Motel6 in Watsonville turned over the Silver Leaf indeed!really, what more is there to base a rating and review on but the basics? do we want to be left on our own to do our own thing in relative privacy or do we want to be waited on hand and foot? sometimes just being able to check without hesitation all the boxes on the list of the basic amenities a hotel / motel should provide, elevated by pleasant exchanges with the staff and perhaps some fellow lodgers, is enough to warrant a solid 10, excellent across the board!*nota bene! : this review clocks in at a 9 ONLY BECAUSE both ice machines were out of order...

Liked: the view from just outside our ground level corner room was so pretty and serene! the woman at the front desk was nice and informative. the room was basic, but clean and comfortable. the decor was a bit retro and cool and still quite modern. they have a laundry room with two each coin-operated machines to wash and dry, as well as two ice machines (both were out of order during our stay) and two vending machines of drinks and snacks that use an app to make purchases. this laundry room, as well as the front desk, is accessible 24hrs. i had a bath during our stay, which was quite pleasant for an unfamiliar tub. also, my 'what i didn't like' comment has a few minor mentions that i turn around. there is an enclosed pool and outside lounge area, but we did not use this part of the facility.
Disliked: i noticed there was not a microwave nor a refridgerator, but decided that was totally fine : there is a 24hr Jack in the Box not even a block away that suited us just fine. we have stayed in a few other local hotels, most having the smart TV feature. here there is only Dish cable, but we found the program guide channel with the current time in the upper right corner. the TV had to be on in order to power the input port on the front face of the TV wall mount. this turned into a bonus feature. only individually wrapped mini soaps were offered with full sets of towels, but there is a Dollar Tree in one of the adjacent shopping centers where i bought shampoo and conditioner, and had plenty of other items one could buy to augment their stay. there is also a 24hr landromat in the same adjacent shopping center if one needed more than just the motel's two machines to wash and two machines to dry laundry in.
