Beware Booking Here Through Third...

Liked: For a Motel 6, the reviews saying it is clean and renovated are correct. It's in a convenient location and when you just need a place to sleep and aren't looking for anything fancy or special, it's a good option. The front desk staff was friendly and polite considering management is garbage.
Disliked: Management is new and he's a snake looking to make as much money as possible. I booked this stay through Booking.com through the promise of not having to pay until we stay. I've done this several times with several hotels and never had an issue. The manager of this location apparently runs cards the day BEFORE arrival so if the card is declined he can book the room and not miss out. I've never had this happen before!! Our account didn't have the funds yet when he ran it, but did the day of our stay, so it was declined. Well, we arrive from out of state and they had given our room away!! Without ANY notice. We had NO IDEA. I checked and double checked all my emails and nothing. Somehow we lucked out and a long term guest left early just that morning and it was the only room available. Otherwise the closest hotel that night was 25 miles away!! So we booked it but ended up paying DOUBLE what we had booked it at through Booking.com. Such bull.
