Liked: I really enjoyed the location and the owners they were very friendly and upgraded me for the same price!
Disliked: Breakfast was cold, limited, and very small portions. It's not worth getting up before 8:45 .

Disappointing

Liked: nice old hotel in downtown with lots of character.
Disliked: Tried to cram to much into room, bed was comfortable but to big for room. Portable AC/heater, requires window to be left open, room is right on main street ,hwy 160, noisy. Not enough electric plugs. Bathroom was a joke 3x3 shower, toilet crammed into a hole that was to small, and a sink hung on wall that maybe stuck out 8", half that was taken out by the outset for the mirror and electric. Breakfast only served between 7 and 830, not good if you want to go see birds in morning, was cold.

Disliked: Outdated and gives feeling of an abandoned building. Our bathroom sink was this size of an airplanes sink. We couldn't wash our face without dripping water on the floor

Liked: It’s in the heart of Monte Vista, so walking to nearby restaurants was convenient. There were lots of antiques to check out in the restaurant dining area. The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: The entire building is old and dark. The elevator was very old with 2 doors that were very difficult to operate, especially if you were carrying anything. The room was converted from 2 rooms into 1. The patchwork was obvious. Despite the remodeling, it was too crowded to move around. The bathroom was extremely narrow and the sink was located outside the bathroom in an awkward place. The baseboards and wall in the bathroom were dirty. There was a huge patch of carpet in front of the sink that had been cut out and then covered up with a rug. The portable AC/heater was loud and continuously turned on and off all night, disrupting sleep. I booked this hotel because previous reviews commented about breakfast being good. I was expecting the restaurant to be open for a sit down meal. Instead, at check-in, we were given a brown paper bag with an apple, banana, orange, a muffin and microwaveable breakfast sandwich (store bought stuff wrapped in plastic), and a bottle of water and orange juice. The next day there was a typical continental breakfast, but we didn’t eat there, to the chagrin of the owner who told us she opened up the breakfast just for us. After 2 days, we were ready to get out.
