Good

Liked: Amazing staff and comfortable beds. I was able to get an extra blanket because it was quite cold which was nice. The shower got nice and hot and there was available parking.
Disliked: The room was pretty cold at night, the extra blanket helped but I had to wear my hood on my head while I slept. I also wish there was an extra hook in the shower area to hang your clothes/towels.

Exceptional

Liked: We had a lovely stay at Montacute. It came recommended by a friend, and didn't disappoint! The location is perfect (in Battery Point, next to Salamanca, 15 minute walk to Coles and Wworths). The building is charming, as is the eccentric owner. Kitchen is good size, shared bathrooms are clean, and the book exchange shelf has good books and is well kept. Hairdryers can be borrowed.

Liked: Rarely I found an hostel so precious like this one around the world. If you go through Tasmania you have to go here. So tidy, clean and comfortable. The position is amazing. Everybody was gentle and welcoming. And one last thing but not for importance: the owner is a legend, so funny and so helpful!

Liked: Fantastic location and a lovely old house with verandahs at the back with amazing views of Kunanyi. Good communal facilities, though showers and toilets were a bit cramped. Comfy bunks with welcome little details like privacy curtains, reading lights, and power points and shelves next to every bed.
Disliked: It's been ages since I've done the dorm bed thing, and I'm out of practice sharing sleeping space with others! But that's more about me than about the accommodation. For a dormitory/bunkroom setup, it was very good.
