Fabulous Guest House

Liked: We loved the location of MonkBridge House. It was only a 5 minute walk to York Minister and about 10 mins to The Shambles and Christmas Markets.Our room on the top floor was clean, spacious and comfortable bed. The host provided a kettle to make tea and coffee and also left homemade shortbread. There was also fresh milk for a cuppa and a bottle of water provided. There was a mini bar with reasonable prices for drinks and snacks.The host provided a delicious breakfast with great choices of Full English breakfast, cereals, yoghurts, pastries, homemade bread, jam and marmalade. Sourdough with avocado and choice of eggs, omelettes and French toast.. One of the best breakfast we have had.Would definitely stay at MonkBridge again.

I would be hard pushed...

Liked: Breakfast was excellent, well cooked, attention to detail. Home made butter was superb. I loved the room a nice large twin room.
Disliked: Everything was fine

Exceptional

Liked: Great location. Parking. Around 10 - 15 minute walk to Minster. Beautiful building and history which has been very tastefully renovated with some original features. Great breakfast options with detail and care taken for gluten free choices.
Disliked: Can be noisy outside at night. Nevertheless we would stay again.

10/10 stay - MonkBridge house...

Liked: I could not have chosen a better place to stay in York! Paul + Fiona are fantastic hosts. Breakfast is delicious, including home made butter + soda bread. Super cosy rooms, very comfy beds, a minibar in our room + scrummy homemade biscuits - delightful. I stayed for business as I had a film in competition at the Asthetica short film festival + I had my mum with me. She only has a small appetite + this was taken into consideration at breakfast. I’m a keen runner and it turns out they love running too. From a late breakfast on Saturday as I ran parkrun, to recommending running routes to lending me their foam roller after my Sunday morning plod, MonkBridge House was everything i hoped for in our stay and more. Thank you so much :)

York is beautiful place to...

Liked: The room was perfect. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, quiet, great shower! Well stocked coffee/tea and honour bar in the suite. Location was a leisurely 15 minute walk to the Minster and all the restaurants and tour pick up spot. The breakfasts were delicious. Everything home made by Paul. Fiona was so helpful with directions and suggestions.
Disliked: Monkbridge house was awesome. Nothing negative

Liked: Exceptional. Beautifully restored and so comfortable.Paul and Fiona were open and friendly ready to pass on advice on York but also the fascinating history of MonkBridge House.Gut busting breakfast is legendary. Best I’ve attempted to complete in years…. Fantastic

Lovely very well located bed...

Liked: The breakfast was amazing the product on offer were to a high standard and lots of homemade products on the buffet selection
Disliked: The only let down for me was the mattress to which I found it quite uncomfortable
