Modest, clean accommodation with good...

Liked: Good sized room. Very clean. Extra small towels. Sufficient outlets for devices with USB ports. Far enough from the road that it was quiet.
Disliked: Hair dryer didn't work. Some outlets and USB ports didn't work. The refrigerator kept coming on and was louder than a hum.

Liked: A perfectly satisfactory place to crash for the night if exploring Monterey etc., at a good price. Cheap and functional. Clean and tidy. The heating worked well, and there are enough restaurants within driving distance to find an evening meal.
Disliked: Impossible to find at night (especially if raining). Hidden behind the gas station, the address given is that for the main road (gas station), whereas the entrance is around the corner. No signage on either entrance. The guy at reception, who also seemed to work at the gas station, could have smiled. Just once. That would have been nice.Breakfast bag was a mix of extremes. A decent amount of fruit, bananas, mandarins - very good, or sticky cinnamon buns and sweet yoghurt.
