Liked: Location was central to everything in Waikiki. Very walkable. Beach access just steps from pool. The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The property was very clean and beautiful. I stayed in the historic section of the hotel and enjoyed the history. I also enjoyed the activities provided by the hotel - the Leo making was great! I really enjoyed dinner at the Beach House (Veranda). The Chef’s tasting menu was a fabulous experience and the service amazing. The best meal we’ve ever had in Honolulu. I liked that the hotel caters more toward an adult crowd. If my kids were still small, I’d stay somewhere that actually caters to children and has plenty of activities for them. The eateries are not really kid friendly - especially the fine dining experience.
Disliked: The outdoor noise level. I had a city view room (Historic Banyan) and the windows are single pane and very old. I could hear every bit of noise from the street - people yelling, motorcycles revving their motors, loud music, etc, as if the windows were wide open. It was difficult to sleep. I recommend wearing ear plugs! The pool is very small. There is a divider for kids vs adult area but isn’t adhered to. And families with kids brought pool toys into the pool (there isn’t enough room for this!). I was also disappointed in how many people saved chairs first thing in the morning but weren’t around until hours later. Apparently the staff allow people to save chairs for 1 hour however that wasn’t the case. Staff did nothing to remove items from chairs that had been saved beyond an hour. So, if you want to be at the pool arrive when it opens and don’t be a jerk!

Very disappointing.

Liked: Location is good but this property is in need of a desperate update. Rooms are old, smelly and tired. Carpets are filthy dirty and look like they’ve been there forever. Definitely not with the money and to top it off you couldn’t even get fresh air into the rooms as all balcony doors are locked due to building happening.
Disliked: As specified above.
