Great Location and Friendly Staff

Liked: The hotel is in a great location and within an easy walk to the main train station and the old city. The room was very clean and nicely appointed with tea available. The staff was very friendly, and also made sure to have the breakfast ready for us in time to catch our train. We are very happy with our stay there.

Disliked: Parking was 10 minute walk from hotel, understandable in city centre. The breakfast was not very good, not much choice and nothing hot.

Not what we ordered

Liked: location was good. very central. management and staff friendly. bed comfortable. good shower.
Disliked: We were given a different room than I expected. photo on confirmation not our room. I booked a superior room with round table plus two lounge chairs and coloured lights on bed. there were no coloured lights, no round table and only one lounge chair. I insisted we got another room. There we got the coloured lights but no table and one chair. Honesty would help manage expectations. The breakfast was basic and they did not restock.

Liked: Location was A1. The reception manager Philip Zimmer was so helpful and the atmosphere in the hotel was great.
Disliked: The car park is 250m away on a one way system. Probably could have known that more precisely from the hotel description. It's not an issue, just a consideration.

An exceptional small hotel in...

Liked: This is an excellent base for visiting the old centre of Aachen with the pedestrian area beginning just across the road.The hotel is simple but our room was spotlessly clean and, although compact, was well designed with space for clothes and luggage, many sockets and pleasing details such as a plentiful supply of hanging hooks.The breakfast was superb with a very varied array of foods and fresh eggs prepared to order.We chose not to drive into the centre of Aachen but to use the Park and Ride service which worked extremely well as the hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the bus station.An exceptional small hotel and excellent value for money.
