The warmth and comfort of...
Liked: The Country House has the warmth and comfort of a B&B, plus the privacy and convenience of a traditional hotel. Although just off of a major roadway, and 3-minute drive from the center of Millbrook, the House is tucked away - quiet even with the windows open. The breakfast, cooked by owner-chef Giancarlo, was amazing: coffee or tea, fresh squeezed orange juice, a ricotta-yogurt blend with caramelized apples, and scrumptious eggs on toast with a tomato jam.
Disliked: Nothing - couldn't have been better!

Avoid it if you can.
Liked: Location.Very personable elderly couple running the place, once we got access. But, see following.
Disliked: We had indicated our arrival between 4-5 p.m. Bookings receipt showed this. When we arrived around 4:15,, the place was locked up. No one answered our knocking. After a few minutes, we drove a block away; decided to telephone the number shown on your receipt; got a voice mail. Instead of giving up and going on our way -- big mistake -- we stuck around another 20 minutes. Tried the telephone again. This time the proprietor (on a shopping trip away from the site,) answered. Told us his wife was in the house - probably had been watching TV and was unaware of our presence. A few minutes later, the wife, dressed in sweat pants and barefoot admitted us to the house. Both my wife and I have mobility issues. Nothing compared to the poor wife. She indicated our room at the top of a long stairway, but was unable to help carry our things, offering instead to have her husband help out. (We managed alone. Husband arrived 45 minutes later.) This is not a property appropriate for old folks,And perhaps the proprietors might consider retiring. The air conditioning in the room worked fine. Otherwise, the uncomfortable beds, absence of a chair, no mirror... What you told us we paid for was "a double room ... a private bathroom and...a seating area.:" The bathroom was in the hall outside our sparse bedroom. Lucky for us, there were no other guests. The bathroom was adequate, but the tiny mirror over the sink was hard to shave by.Also, the house is home to cats. This should be advertised, for those allergic to felines. (I am.)Finally, the breakfast was really bad: bananas in thick goo; overcooked boiled eggs on bread. That we paid so much for so little is indeed a "disappointment." Bookings should delist that place.
