Not the same hotel.. under...

Liked: The rooms are excellent and very comfortable to sleep in.
Disliked: So where to start.. we arrived, a key lock didn't work.Coffee is very limited, and the coffee machine in the room, only one pod given.Booked a reservation in the restaurant for valentines Day and phone before to check. Kept waiting an hour, and they had sold out of main menu items such as steak... so I ended up going somewhere else.Managers' attitude was very poor, looked stressed, and the restaurant was being run entirely by her.Whilst you can understand that problems occur.. it was just multiple issues..Personally, I feel the feedback that we booked on was when the hotel was an independent boutique hotel and Haa recently been taken over by IHG hotels, and the hotel is going through changeThe manager offered a free night at a later date, which we declined. Refunded a nights stay as an apology. We booked this hotel based on reviews.. please be aware that this is not the same hotel that people obviously loved and reviewed.

Some of the younger staff...

Liked: Building and rooms where very clean and good space
Disliked: First thoughts was a lovely building upon arrival, to be greeted with a very patronising receptionist, who totally ignored my partner at the desk , I booked the valentines meal for our special night, the menu had a very poor selection food and choice , with no indicated vegan or vegetarian choice,I had the salmon , that came with 3 new potatoes and 3 stalks of broccoli , the service was very slow 2 hours for 2 courses , gave up waiting for the sweet to come out, then rushed to bring it out once we walked out, and restaurant only had 14 people max eating so wasn’t if kitchen was over loaded, the worst part for me was being told out loud the total bill amount in front of my partner , extremely unprofessional of the manager, I left feeling very embarrassed as my special evening with my new partner had been messed up so badly , breakfast Sunday morning had to wait for cups for hot drinks , then my partners breakfast was taken while we went for more coffees .

We had a great time...

Liked: The Milford Hall is lovely mix of old & modern offering spacious and light accommodation. The restaurant and bar area have a lovely feel to them and the drinks are reasonably priced. It is also a very short stroll into town where you will find a vast array of shops, cafes, restaurants & bars! We did have an issue with lack of availability of food in the restaurant, however the head of house was very apologetic and did her upmost to resolve and compensate for this. So even though the evening wasn’t maybe exactly what we had expected we had a great time spending around 4hrs both in the restaurant and the bar area.
