Visiting York

Liked: Location is very easy for visiting York. The food was excellent (we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Our room was in an external building up a steep flight of steps but large and very comfortable.
Disliked: Pre dinner drinks and lunch were served in the drawing room, and while very grand, we found the lack of any background music made the room feel like being in a museum!

Liked: Relaxed, spacious, well-appointed. Staff were really kind when we arrived late.

Liked: Beautiful English historic country house, very tastefully curated and decorated. Very comfortable and beautiful open rooms to relax in. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive, excellent service. Great spa too with lovely pool and high quality treatments available.
Disliked: Rooms a little cool in winter due to the age of the property, understandable. But lovely real fires downstairs

Mmmmmm ok but deffo not...

Liked: Public rooms lovely decor but not friendly.
Disliked: Some staff rather dull & not too helpful. Coffee machine in room serves tepid coffee. Bathroom too small! Decor in rooms needs a look at, getting a bit tired. Black pudding overdone (like a pice of coal).
