Located in Bishops Hull Taunton this charming period residence is over 300 years old and is set in its own grounds offering somewhere to relax and enjoy. Rooms at the hotel all offer flat-screen TVs and iPod/iPhone docks as well as fast and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms also enjoy village views. Meryan House Hotel is set in delightful grounds only 1 mi (one mile) from the center of Taunton. The owners have opened up 3 of the original inglenook fireplaces and a complete working well over 39 feet (40 feet) deep found in the kitchen. Free parking is available at the rear of the hotel with 24/7 CCTV. There are 2 very rare and friendly Dandie Dinmont Terrier dogs at the hotel. Excellent location and high quality...

Liked: I was familiar with Meryan House but never stayed. I was not disappointed. A very comfortable bed and well appointed en-suite room. I found the artwork particularly interesting and the history of the house quite fascinating. The location is well suited to explore Taunton and the area, and there is excellent onsite parking. The range of breakfast items on the menu was extensive, and it all beautifully prepared and cooked. Thank you to the owners for an excellent stay, and I will stay longer on my next visit. 5 Star ⭐

Liked: Nice and easy for short stay, great price, lovely cooked breakfast, car park, comfy bed, WiFi, enthusiastic staff.
Disliked: 2 miles from centre, but no bother.

Very good

Liked: Hotel is lovely and sympathetically furnished and decorated. Breakfast was tasty but choice limited - unwilling to change type of eggs with the full breakfast. Room very comfortable - lovely bed. Very easy to get to the places we needed to go to by car and on foot. Would stay there again.
Disliked: The owner was very hospitable if a little brusque. Shower adequate but not great.
