Nice but average

Liked: It was clean on arrival, team were friendly and helpful
Disliked: Tried to charge me $80 to access the room early, even though I emailed weeks in advance. The room that was given to me was the last room and the end of the corridor and all the noise traveled into the room. I could hear the cleaners bashing around in their cupboard and the neighbours doors slamming. Also there was only turn down service once and it was right at the end of my stay. Odd.

Mercure, Melbourne

Liked: Mercure was very good in the heart of the CBD. Walkable to lots of places of interest. Great breakfasts lots of choice and well presented. Would stay there again.
Disliked: Having been out all day, I decided to order room service. It took a while to arrive and when it did, it wasn't very warm. I phoned reception and they sent the guy back for it which they said they would reheat it. I said no, I wanted a fresh one and I wanted it very hot! By the time all this passed, it was 10pm when I finally got my meal. The notion had gone off me by then and only ate a little I discovered the next evening, from another resident, that it came from the sister hotel adjoined to us, hence the cold food.

Probably will not be going...

Liked: The location is close to everything
Disliked: the room is much smaller than anticipated, the location of the room is close to rubbish chute at first and we asked to move, but all the room available are all in the same spot different floor. Toilet have smell coming out, this is on all the room. Hallway is small and dark, the floor was not clean and have previous tenant’s rubbish still.

Good

Liked: The hotel was located at an extremely convenient spot, with Melbourne central just a 2 minute walk away!
Disliked: The hotel surprisingly didn’t come with a security locker which felt a bit odd.

Liked: The staff were very friendly & helpful
Disliked: The floor I stayed on (3) smelled so badly of cigarette smoke that my clothes ended up smelling the same.

Liked: Love the location ,staff where lovely And the breakfast was the highlite for my grandchildren They absolutely loved it One of the reasons we book yearly
Disliked: Not a fan of the bed ,it was tooooo soft and it was sinking on my side
