Brilliant location; really nice hotel; friendly staff on reception and accommodating night porter who willingly served myself and my partner drinks on coming back to the hotel late.
Disliked: Only one gripe, the lampshade in our room was particularly dirty and should be removed. Looks OK when lamp off, though when on, fillthy.

Comfortable, classy, cosy. Excellent location,...
Liked: Location was superb, the room and bathroom was very spacious and comfortable, very nicely decorated with wonderful in room amenities! The building is beautiful, I especially loved the revolving door at the entrance and the old signage on display. For the price, it was excellent value and felt like such a treat.
Disliked: Whilst the bathroom was very clean, the shower heads were clogged with limescale and only about a third of the water nozzles had water coming out of them. Where the water pressure is already slow (understandable on the top floor of a very old building) it made for a difficult shower. Some kind of shelf in the shower would also be helpful as I had to put all the soap bottles on the floor. Some of the communal areas could do with some TLC... wallpaper and paint are damaged down some hallways.

Nice central hotel with classic...
Liked: Sharon at reception was incredibly friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to make my arrival and stay pleasant. Other staff were a bit hit or miss (though all professional enough). Rooms/bed were comfortable enough and facilities seemed clean.
Disliked: Water pressure was very weak in the shower. Beer selection at the hotel bar was lacking. My colleagues and I frequently travel to Salisbury for work by train, but taxis are extremely unreliable (particularly in the morning) and some reception staff put more effort into assisting than others. If the hotel was to work with one of the local taxi companies to be able to guarantee availability when booked ahead, this hotel would be a go-to for our regular visits. Including breakfast in the room cost for the upgrade rooms would also go a long way for business visits.

Perfect location, great staff and...
Liked: My wife and I were travelling with my frail Mother in Law and we had rooms opposite, which was perfect. We were also upgraded to the Bridal Suite, which, as newly weds ourselves was the perfect room for us! Thank you
Disliked: If anything, in winter it may be a little cold in the suite as the doors to the patio were not draught proofed, but it did not spoil our stay, as the weather was okay

Good.
Liked: I’ve always loved this hotel since I was very young.
Disliked: We found our shower had little power. The radiator didn’t work and it wasn’t as clean as it should be. There was hair in the plug hole and dust in the corners. The bar closes at 12 and there was no option for a late drink.
