Hotel was really nice and modern and was great value for money. Breakfast was great too.

Great overnight stay, comfortable, excellent...

Liked: Didn't havw. breakfast this time but I was in Cardiff for an evening performance and the Mercure in Newport was perfect for a one night stay before catching the train back to London the following morning.

Nice hotel, comfortable room

Liked: After a last minute cancellation which I was only informed of as I arrived at my other hotel, I was able to book a last minute stay at the Mercure Hotel thankfully. The hotel was quiet, comfortable, and in a good location to get to the train station in Newport.

A short one night visit...

Liked: Breakfast was good with a selection of hot items as well as continental breakfast.The self service layout worked well and was just right for those in a hurry whilst offering space and comfort for those needing a more leisurely. start to the morning.
Disliked: I never quite mastered the room temperature in the short time that I was there. My fault.

Area is in a prime...

Liked: There was damage to the walls outside our room as welll as the tabletop, the air con was not working properly as it wouldn’t turn down so the room was very stuffy throughout the night.

Liked: The location was good and a car park was not too expensive a 5 mins walk away.The bed was comfy, and the shower was really good.The tv was really big for a hotel room The soundproofing needs to be upgraded. You can hear people in the next room and when walking by the room door.
