Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Danella W, Rayleigh, visiting Mote Park Maidstone Mon, 14 September 2015

We were put in a room that backed onto the car park, it was very noisy. Also there was no kettle in the rooms so we were unable to make a cup of tea. We have stayed in hotels that cost less and are better maintained and you are better looked after. I would not recommend this hotel and it was out near busy motorways and a £17 cab ride to get to Mote Park.

Liked: Clean apart from the dead flies on the window sill. Lots of parking space.
Disliked: Not good value for money.

Lovely staff but I won’t...

Liked: Every member of staff I interacted with was welcoming and helpful, a credit to the hotel. I was upgraded to a privilege room at a discounted rate which was nice. The room itself was very dated, however, with lots of fixtures and fittings worn or in disrepair. The bathroom in particular is in desperate need of an upgrade, with broken fittings and a extractor fan that doesn’t do much extracting... The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. The location was fairly convenient for anyone who is stopping off on the way to somewhere, but its convenience in this way is also a disadvantage because of the road noise which goes into the night and starts up early in the morning. I didn’t find the location convenient for access to Maidstone itself, however. The breakfast was great, with lots of choice and it was kept topped up right until the end of service.

Having a swimming pool was...

Liked: Breakfast was ex Ellen's quality with good choice.
Disliked: Went to restaurant for meal as soon as it opened as I had my young grandson with me. Had to wait 50 mins for meal. Although the food was good, the wait was unacceptable. The answer that they had a large coach party to cater for that evening was unacceptable.

Lovely local stay

Liked: Second visit. We go for the spa facilities Little tired but functional I had a lovely facial We also used the time there to visit Leeds castle.
Disliked: Unfortunately the bar was being used for a private function. It didn't much effect the dining experience, only a longer wait. The breakfast was good value and enjoyable.

Pleasant

Liked: Location and grounds were good.
Disliked: The rooms are very tired and could do with a refresh. The water in the shower was too hot to have a shower. No USB sockets in the room either.

Superb

Liked: The hotel is set in beautiful grounds. The room was good and the breakfast was excellent.
Disliked: The bed was huge but took up most of the area of room itself and made it difficult to move around..
