Good but not perfect

Liked: Very comfortable bed, good temperature control in room and good breakfast
Disliked: I asked for a receipt for my stay and was offered the option of having it emailed. That was good, but the receptionist did not copy it correctly (I think) despite my taking trouble to spell it out. To date it has not arrived, nor has the email I sent to the hotel asking for a re-send been answered

I understand it's central London...

Liked: The breakfast was nice and reasonably priced although not great vegan options. Location was great and the bathroom had a really good shower.
Disliked: The room was really depressing, nothing like any of the photos on the website. It almost felt like someone had gone to extra effort to make it look cheap and tacky. The bar staff were lovely but really didn't seem like they'd had much training.

Perfect for what we needed...

Liked: Good location and good choice for breakfast. Undisturbed sleep for being on a very busy location.
Disliked: Parking. Only small space and staff allowed another couple to park right behind us. If he didn't go out to the car when we did we would have been blocked in and unable to leave to go home as the couple who owned the other car were going out for the day. Staff had previously advised that no other cars would be allowed to park right behind us. Pillows weren't great either. Shower - soaked the bathroom.

Pleasant

Liked: Our stay was good with the exception of the fire alarm that went off on our last night at 3 am. I called down to the front desk, no answer, I put on my coat and boots over my night gown and walked down the stairs to the front desk to find it unattended. After about a minute 2 men came, sounded like one of them was training the other and I asked about the fire alarm that went off. They said “oh we are sorry mam, we accidentally opened a fire door”, nothing further but the apology. Well, being a hotel manager for a hotel in San Diego I take any kind of alarm seriously and expect the hotel I’m staying at to do the same. There is definitely room for additional training here. Besides from this our stay was good.
