Passable

Liked: Just the location, which was ideal for seeing the city.
Disliked: The beds were most uncomfortable for my wife and I. Hard mattress and difficult to find a comfortable position. Woke up with back pains each. We spent 3 nights and couldn't wait to leave. Rooms had no intercom or phone to contact reception or order room service. You had to scan a QR code and send a text message to a WhatsApp number....very strange! The breakfast was disappointing. Full English breakfast buffet had no mushrooms, and scrambled eggs were the only choice of eggs on offer. The spread for the bread/toast was not butter...tasted like lard. It took ages to refill the food stock. We were better off eating out, to be honest...and we went out for breakfast for the rest of our time.

The hotel equivalent of Arkham...

Liked: Staff were very helpful when leaving luggage and eventually checking in
Disliked: The first time we stayed here was about five years ago, and we had a comfortable stay with an absolutely stunning view. However this time was the complete opposite, and without a doubt the worst stay in Liverpool we've ever had. This place is the hotel equivalent of Arkham Asylum. From the moment we got to our room we had all kinds of noise, be it from people in the corridors or televisions through the walls. Me and my partner went out for food, came back and settled, only to be awoken around midnight by the sounds of a couple who had clearly drank their own body weight and more in ale, throwing up through the night, which we could hear clear as day through the adjoining door. Every splash, every bit of drink, food and more as it hit the toilet. This happened throughr the night constantly. Plus other bodily functions. Like that scene from the exorcist. Truly disgusting. Every cough, burp and bodily function. We barely had a wink of sleep. And the room was a box and no way value for money. A horrible stay. If you're staying in Liverpool, steer clear of this dump.

Overall, very good.

Liked: The location, heating we could control, walk in shower with nonslip base, decent breakfast, food available in bar, helpful cheerful staff.
Disliked: No hotel phone on 12th floor by lift. No chairs in room & stool uncomfortable. Restaurant not open for evening meal.

lovely, but.....

Liked: Went for a special weekend, we got engaged. Hotel is in a great location for Liverpool 1 the Albert Dock and the attractions around are all within walking distance. Staff very welcoming room was clean and warm but the lighting wasn't great. Didn't get the river view we requested but it was a last minute request and the receptionist did look for us to check,we just climbed onto the balcony and could see the dock. Great view from the restaurant where we ate breakfast however we felt some elements of breakfast could have been better. Parking quite expensive. We paid quite a lot of money and feel one or two tweaks are needed to make this a true 4 star hotel. Had a lovely weekend though despite a couple of niggles.
Disliked: Breakfast, no mushrooms, some bits not great. Need to order fried eggsLighting in room far too dim. Expensive.
