Mixed stay with the right...

Liked: The property is stunning , our room was comfortable and clean , the food and service in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was superb .
Disliked: The first interaction with the staff was when we checked in , two receptionists on the reception looking at the screen when we checked in the young lady assisted us but was sharing a joke with her colleague who was chuckling to himself after we had given our name , not exactly a good luck and unnerving , my husband commented to the pair and asked what was so funny , The poor bar man was a young bar man who lacked experience ( no measures used when pouring drinks ) he free poured all our drinks for the evening has he not been trained on the weights and measures act . The manager walked through the hotel on three occasions whilst sitting in the bar he never interacted or passed the time of day with any of his guests . Poor customer service !! It was Xmas party night so I understand that the hotel was extremely busy and the staff may have been busy but the fundamentals of customer service need to be right . Please train the team on this and lead by example a friendly smile and good evening from the manager on his way through the hotel would have gone a long way ! The corridor after the party was extremely noisy laughing , crying , doors banging , by inconsiderate party goers went on till 4am .. perhaps put party goers on different floors . I know the noise factor is not the hotels fault but it did not help .

Generally an OK stay but...

Liked: Location and car parking were excellent
Disliked: Room was stifling hot and although the window said 'use the handle to open' - there was no handle; we managed to open the bottom and prop it open with a waling stick. The room advertised room service "dial 0" - but no phone in room - reception a very long way away and "people have the app these days" - we don't. Floor VERY squeaky. Check out advertised as 11.30 but on return to room after breakfast at 10.15 the keycard would not open the door; another long walk downstairs to reception where it was reset - but no word of explanation or apology.
