Budget Hotel in lovely building

Liked: Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable
Disliked: The rooms are getting a little dated and shabby and could do with a deep clean

Was Nice and did what...

Liked: The Room was nice and clean the bathroom needed some modernisation
Disliked: The check in process could be quicker, when we got there they was two other people checking in. It took the receptionist 10 minutes per person to check them in. Another member of staff to help on reception would of helped.

Liked: the bed was comfy the staff where nice and helpful. the Christmas party we had was fun. and the food was good even though was a long time between courses
Disliked: the breakfast was not good dried up rock hard food hash brown rubbish the black pudding was like a slither of tarmac that dry, the mushrooms where black the bacon you could bang it on the plate was that hard was uneatable don't waste your money on a breakfast. the pastries where soft and felt old and dry... my bath had a dirty tide line round it had no choice but to have a shower. the drinks where very very pricey and not enough staff for a party night. a bottle of prosecco from the bar almost £34 they didn't offer me an ice bucket and left me to open myself as had to wait 15 to get served i was just happy to have a drink for my meal

Never again

Disliked: the room wasn't clean and even had mold around the window. the heating didn't work and when reported this nothing was done. The noise from the corridor and the rooms either side were not only the cause of a sleepless night but the bed wasn't comfortable either. In general the hotel is very tired looking and we'd avoid it at all costs next time we're in the area.

Liked: Lots of good car parking
Disliked: I was placed in a very small room (109) at the end of the corridor next to two very noisy swinging doors that banged and clattered every time anyone went down corridor; this affected my night's sleep hugely.The bar was massively understaffed on Saturday and food and drink took a very long time to be served.
