Very good
Liked: We had requested a twin room but there wasn’t one available when we arrived. There was a wedding which meant the hotel was very noisy. The bed was comfy and food was nice.

Reasonable price, room style like...
Liked: Easy parking for our room. 2nd visit and this time a lift available to room for my not very well wife. Nice large room which turned out to be very quiet with a nice aspect,, just what we wanted. as it was not a leisure visit. Visiting a sick friend in the area the same as our last visit to the Dunkenhalgh Hotel.
Disliked: Foul mouthed people outside the front hotel at an outdoor lounge area on our entrance and stay. Effing and blinding which we thought wass very innapropriate for such an entrance and hotel.

Lovely old building with great...
Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is a beautiful old building.
Disliked: There was four of us in our room, 2 adults, 2 children, unfortunately we only had 2 bath towels each so had to ask for two more. Also there was only 2 tea bags, 2 coffee etc. Would be nice if there had been four of each so we didn't have to ask. Saying that, it was no trouble to the staff it was just we were a very long way away from Reception to go back and ask for more.

Very good
Liked: Very nice hotel comfortable stay.
Disliked: The long walk to my room. The fact that older kids had to be supervised in the pool by an adult. We were 2 adults and 6 children, over 11 years and good swimmers, but still not allowed in the pool without an adult. 1 adult to 2 children

Good
Liked: Staff were very pleasant, the building and grounds were very pretty. The spa facilities were nice. The room had very little natural light, and was uncomfortably warm. We were unable to switch the radiator off - when raised with the staff they just said "some of the rooms are like that". We were supplied with a fan instead. The bed was not comfortable - two twins together, and there was a dip in the middle. No toilet brush which I always think is pretty grim. I got a half day spa package - my treatments were average, the lady doing them was very nice though. My afternoon tea was disappointing, dry scone, bland sandwiches, a slice of cold soggy sausage roll. Also thought it was a bit stingy that the coffee/tea was a single refill only before paying extra. The restaurant area was decorated nicely. The food was nice but in our opinion a bit overpriced.

An amazing stay
Liked: This hotel has a beautiful setting and history... this is our second visit and the staff are always helpful and willing to put guests first at all cost. Semoyal was outstanding a credit to this hotel. Well done Semoyal you made our stay outstanding, and we fell you went the extra mile to make our stay very memorable.
Disliked: One receptionist wasn't very welcoming, no smiles looked impatient. We asked to book a table for pur evening meal and when we went to the dining area later that evening we were not on the list at all. Very disappointing however we did get a table and had our meal.
