Good hotel, great value for...

Liked: Location, staff, service, food and room
Disliked: We were kept awake on the Saturday night until 12.30am by a wedding reception being held underneath. When we mentioned this, as we checked out the following morning, we were told that, as non wedding guests, we should have been located in the Spa wing. It’s something that I would suggest they clarify at the time of booking to improve their service

Poop water full of everyone’s sweat.Sorry to report this.Food trays empty bottles and wine glasses left outside our room there when we arrived all day only to eventually go when we moved them to a more visible place . Gone by following morning.Lovely breakfast.Premises cold due to so many doors open Too many wedding guests. Could not get served at bar, long que so went out to eat.Overall fair stay.

Disappointing

Liked: Bedroom wasn’t too bad. Beds were obviously not the best quality but comfortable enough. Nice shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Good parking.
Disliked: Mould and obvious dirt in ensuite. Dirty floors in swimming pool area. Jacuzzi was not great. I was expecting it to be good like another mercure I have been to but realistically it’s only for 2 people and was also not very warm. Shower curtains smell very damp. Nowhere to hang your towel while showering. Showers dirty. Tv was old and couldn’t connect to the internet so wasn’t able to mirror screens to watch anything before bed. Restaurant was expensive. Overall too expensive for experience received.

Pleasant

Liked: The room was lovely except the crazy low roof beams. A hazard of the beautiful character of the building so worth the odd bang of the head.The headboard lighting was covered in dust but the rest was very clean.Let down by two items. I disagree with cashless businesses. While I understand the cost saving, security and transaction speed I still feel at least one till should accept our money.The real let down was the very typical fast food style menu. Both of the dishes we had were too salty. Soup of the day and steak pie. We could not finish either. The gyozas were deep fried and dripping in oil. A lovely building, good staff but a menu that left little to the imagination. A little market research of others would make this evident.

Would not stay again overpriced...

Disliked: The rooms are very dated and need an upgrade for the price. There was rust all over the radiator in the bathroom. The sink was dirty. The water pressure shocking took 25 mins too run a bath. The bar menu was so expensive for food so we drove out to find somewhere cheaper too eat
