Liked: The location
Disliked: I live in London but am originally from the area and have used this hotel many times. Previously this was a high end hotel which has now been cost engineered into quite frankly a budget hotel. The front of house greeting from a particular male receptionist was rude and not welcoming. The food menu in the restaurant at dinner was the type of food offered in a cafe and best described as average in a restaurant setting in lovely surroundings but has become not much more than a motorway service station offer with food to match. The rooms were clean if dated and shame on you Mercure for turning what was Barnsley’s best destination hotel in to not much more than a value hotel next time I’ll stay at Premier Inn. Very disappointed !

Liked: It’s fabulous here the facilities the rooms the cleanness overall it’s amazing I love the Christmas decs as well would highly recommend to people staff are fantastic 💯

Disliked: Place was filthy. Dripping tap all night. Extractor fan did not work in bathroom. Shower flooded bathroom. Was given 1 towel between 4 people and requested for more and was completely ignored. Not a 4 star at all. Stayed in better 1 stars in my time. Avoid
