I've stayed at the Menger...

Liked: RM 2064Bed was very comfortable.Furnishings were nice.
Disliked: Bathrooms are too small.Commode location...my shoulders would not fit between the counter and the wall.Hot cold water fluctuation in the shower.Noise: contruction and drilling and pounding above or below the room for most of the day

Liked: My family and I usually stay at the Menger because of the pricing, the friendliness of the staff, & location.
Disliked: My room was in the historic part of the Hotel which I love; however there was a leak in the ceiling and I was moved. I was moved to the renovated part of the Hotel and was not happy because it was way too small, & I almost knocked the TV over a couple times because it was way too close to the closet. Also, I always check my mileage when I valet; my car mileage had 20 extra miles on it when we left, and we walked everywhere, and did not use our car once.

This was the perfect place...

Liked: Location. 1 minute to the Alamo. 1 minute to the River Center Mall. 4 minutes to the river walk. Less than a mile from the Market Plaza. We walked everywhere.
Disliked: Probably the view from the room. Roof, walls and sky. But we were only in the room at night to sleep and it was very comfortable.
