Disliked: The fact I had to walk to the bathroom at 3am was daunting, and kept me awake

Charming hotel

Liked: Very charming, great location and the on-site restaurant and bars were great. The decor was interesting and eclectic. It was fun to read all the signs and study the paintings for Easter eggs. Each room had a history or namesake and was fascinating to learn. Clean and staff was above and beyond.
Disliked: I was unaware of the shared bathrooms when I booked. It was still comfortable but a little inconvenient. It is an old hotel on the main street, so it's not the quietest spots. There were some parties going on nearby and we heard a few people celebrating on the street.

Liked: Loved the uniqueness of this hotel. I felt like I was staying in an art museum!The rooftop bar was fabulous! We would like to try other McMenamins to compare!

More of an experience than...

Liked: Quirky old building full of history and teeming with “art”. Discovered something new every day as we walked out of our room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free covered parking a block away.

An old hotel with a...

Liked: Nice downtown location & great staff. Rooftop bar/restaurant has beautiful views & great bartender.
Disliked: Sink in our room was filthy with what had to be backed up sewage (no fault of housekeeping as I’m sure they had cleaned it). Front desk responded & cleaned/sanitized the sink. Woke up in morning to same mess in sink. We should have been put in another room after 1st incident.

Disliked: Where to begin …. No toilet or shower in the room. Names on doors felt like horror show material.
