Mayfair Hotel Ascend Hotel Collection, New York City

We really had a good time there. Even the beds, due to the small size, help my husband and I have more intimate nights.

Liked: Very nice and cozy atmosphere.
Disliked: Rooms too small but comfortable.

Liked: It's close to Times Square and the employees are friendly.
Disliked: The carpet and hallways are very old and dirty. The hotel needs some updates.

Liked: Proximity to Eugene O'Neill Theater. Was able to return to the hotel at show intermission to use the restroom rather than standing in line!
Disliked: Incredibly tiny old rooms.

Liked: Very good location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lobby was welcoming with coffee and tea available. The rooms were very small. Ours had a bed and two night stands, No room for a chair nor a desk. If you are on a visit and don't plan on staying in the room much this is an excellent choice.

Liked: Room was decent size even though it’s a small hotel and it was clean.
Disliked: The only thing is I hoped they offered late check out with extra money but I understand since the hotel is small, they have to have all the rooms for other guests too.

I loved everything about this...

Liked: The room was compact but roomy enough for comfort. The updated decor was very tasteful. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean! There was coffee, hot chocolate, tea, hot water, and cold water in the lobby. The staff were professional and friendly.

Exceptional

Ideal for a few days...

Liked: I was quite impressed with the hotel. The location couldn't be better for the main tourist sights and things in the city, plus easy to get to on the subway. The room was compact but certainly big enough and very comfortable, with excellent facilities. It was cleaned to a high standard every day, and just generally I liked it as a nice space to come back to each night. The free coffee in the lobby was also a nice touch. Another kind thing they did was email me about items I accidentally left behind in the room.
Disliked: No major complaints. The elevator did seem a bit temperamental, in that often you'd call it and it was canceled, or just not exactly corresponding to what you were pressing immediately, but it always worked eventually.
