Wonderful location but like the...

Liked: Lovely spot right on the water and very quiet. Reception staff were excellent and very helpful. Nice common parts & great bar. Plenty of free parking too. Buckers Hard is rather special. Mixed feeling on whether we'd stay again given the next part. Restaurant & it's staff pulled down our rating .. So close to being fabulous too
Disliked: We couldn't get into the very popular bar for dinner & had to use the restaurant - Quality of food was good but portion sizes very very small & left you hungry even when you'd paid £10 for a side of boiled spuds! Hefty bill for very little to eat. Breakfast better but staff attitude not great when we pointed out one coffee was very weak- 'I made it and pressed the same button both times' The block our room was in is modern and uninspired given the history - voices were audible from other rooms & the boilers just outside our room very audible
