I would not recommend choosing...

Liked: Dinner in the restaurant and The Great Hall
Disliked: The heritage room next to a loud and boisterous wedding party. The limited breakfast timetable (from 8am).

Superb

Liked: Shame I arrived late and left early while it was dark-didnt get to appreciate the riverside setting although my window was right by the river and I could hear it flowing by. Traditional scottish set up, tartan galore, deer antlers everywhere and open fireplace-just lovely. Breakfast was very tasty and the staff super helpful.Bathroom very clean and didnt have that smell that hotel bathrooms sometimes have-couldnt fault it. have decided next visit to Aberdeen will stay here.

Lovely relaxing stay in a...

Liked: Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting by the river Dee. A warm welcome greeted us on arrival and we were quickly checked in and made our way to our room, which was gorgeous with amazing views over the river.A couple of quiet drinks by the fire in reception was a lovely chilled way to spend and hour or two in the afternoon, before we changed for dinner. The meal in the brasserie was fantastic, and the staff were attentive but not overbearing. We then retired to the great hall for a nightcap and the staff lit the fire while we took in the surroundings, looking fantastic and amazingly festive. All in all, a lovely, relaxing stay in a beautiful setting, made even better by the warm welcome and clean comfortable room. We'll definitely be back.
Disliked: Nothing but be aware that the hotel is in a secluded location (That's one of the selling points for us in this instance!) so don't expect many facilities nearby.
