Unique stay in Mechelen!

Liked: This unique hotel is very well located in Mechelen with public parking nearby. The room was big, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Buffet breakfast was amazing!
Disliked: It would have been great to be offered a late check out when we asked for it

Liked: The location was excellently placed to visit the centre of Mechelen. The breakfast was taken in a beautiful part of the hotel.

Disliked: - my room was ready before check in time but the hotel does not allow early check in at all; I was tired from travel and that consideration would have been deeply appreciated

Overpriced and underwhelming

Liked: Great location, rooms were quiet, bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Check in process took ages (at least 10 min per person) and the staff were unhelpful (two people behind reception working together to check in one guest, not even acknowledging my presence for 15 minutes). Breakfast was understaffed, meaning they were constantly out of food, had to wait ages for tables to be cleared and food to be restocked. Room was average - felt more like a three star hotel than the advertised four star hotel. Towels scratchy, “Hair/Body Wash” in shower rather than proper shampoo and shower gel. Very basic furniture. Reminded me of an Ibis. A decent hotel but not worth the €175 I paid for the r room.
