Uncomfortable due to no air...

Liked: Location was good and the room itself was nice.
Disliked: The air conditioning wasn’t working and it was terribly hot. We could hardly sleep because it was so hot. The one fan we were given hardly helped. We also didn’t like that there was no parking unless we paid an extra $45.

Disliked: No Air con - did say that it wasn't working but the fans didn't do much and leaving the door opened meant it was noisy.Having to wait for someone to open the car parking for us was a nuisance and then the car parking slots were so tight it was difficult to navigate around and for $45 a night was not worth the money.

Potential to be a great...

Liked: Situated in a great spot with our room having a lovely view of the Viaduct Harbour, the Marsden could be a perfect place to stay in Auckland City, the staff are very friendly also. However, our overall experience was disappointing and we would have stayed somewhere else if we had known given the average cost of this type of accommodation.
Disliked: There was no air conditioning and it was stifling in the rooms, despite the fans provided. Though we were advised of this, (though after we had paid the non-refundable fee) the Tuesday prior to the weekend when we booked, it was still not fixed when we arrived on the Friday. This should be a priority in the middle of a hot summer and made the room extremely uncomfortable.Parking was also an issue, you had to get a staff member to open up the garage whenever you needed to park and if they were busy, this could take a very long time. As parking is extra on top of your room, this needs a better system.Our room was not serviced, no fresh towels etc. The rooms need a good clean, there was thick dust along the bottom of the walls.If the air conditioning was given priority, the rooms deep cleaned, key cards provided for the parking and regular servicing, this could be a great place to stay, the Marsden Hotel needs to spend the money needed to ensure this hotel is worth the money it costs to stay there.

Liked: Nice size rooms and well appointed.
Disliked: The fact the air conditioning wasn’t working made it a very unpleasant stay. Very hot and humid room which made it difficult to sleep in the summer heat. Should have been compensated for this inconvenience
