A most disappointing experience!

Liked: We had a two room "corner" suite with a wonderful view from the bedroom. But not much to see from the "living room" given the smaller and grimy windows!Because of our extremely delayed, unexplained check-in, we were provided with two $50 credits, free parking and free breakfast vouchers for the duration of our stay. We did not use any vouchers as we prefer to simply have a coffee and a pastry/muffin (bought at the on site kiosk) in our room in the mornings. Other than the restaurants, we made no use of any of the hotel's facilities. My wife and I (79) were revisiting the area (Ft Myers/Sanibel) where we have spent many winter visits dating back to the late '70's, and long-stays since retirement in 2003. Our hotel experience was an unwelcomed distraction!
Disliked: Although we arrived at about 3 PM, we were not able to access our room until well after 6 PM! Over the 4 night stay, housekeeping came once only, late (after 6 PM) on the day after check-in: removed towels and trash, replaced coffee. Then never to be seen again! On day 3 we called the Front Desk late in the PM and towels, coffee service was delivered promptly. We left trash outside our door that was still there until late on day 4. (We left on day 5). The hotel advertised 3 eateries on-site, as well as a steakhouse a bit removed. However, all 3 on-site restaurants had exactly the same limited menu. We had planned on dining at the steakhouse on our last night (Sunday) but it was closed. Not the dining experience we had expected!The HVAC in our suite was impossible to manage. We learned that the thermostat in the bedroom had to be set far beyond a normal heating setting to be comfortable overnight. There was a "unit" in the living room that would only provide a blast of cold air. The fan was set on "High" when we arrived, making the room more like a meat locker than comfortable hotel room. The TV remote for the TV in the living room was virtually unresponsive. Entering our Netflix credentials was a 1/2 hour ordeal!

Liked: A great place to relax, next to the beach, large swimming pool. The staff is very polite and helps with everything. We were very pleased to stay there)

Liked: The service of the offsite restaurant was wonderful and the waiter that I’d like to complement with Sam.

Bad

Disliked: They canceled the stay due to the hurricane which is understandable however, I have not been reimbursed for the money I paid for the reservation.
