Marriott Jacksonville Downtown, Jacksonville

The hotel is in a great location, convenient to downtown. The Prime Osborn Convention Center is located across the street. Parking is located in front of the hotel. The only negative was we were charged twice; my advice would be pay at the hotel.

Liked: The hotel was very nice.
Disliked: We were charged for the room twice; paid online, then charged at the desk.

This hotel was convenient to the Symphony Hall. There are not many restaurants nearby. Juliette's restaurant is expensive for the service you receive.

Liked: The front desk staff were very helpful.
Disliked: We checked in and were assigned a room that smelled of pipe/cigar smoke. Called the front desk and got reassigned.

Great rooms; excellent staff and good room service.

Liked: Everything except the hotel restaurant.
Disliked: Julliettes.

The mattress on our bed was so uncomfortable that my wife could hardly walk the next day. We came for the Race for the Cure but could not participate because of her aches and pains.

Disliked: My bed had a dip in it so deep I couldn’t get comfortable. The fees were outrageous , be ready for them to take more than the amount you paid for holding issue on your card . The renovations are taking place but that’s from 10-6 yet something was rattling in my room all night long . They did make an accommodation for me when I told him at the desk and I appreciated that nice location but I wouldn’t stay again.

Negatively Memorable.

Liked: The room service breakfast was similar to and airplane meal. The Omelet and Egg & Cheese Croissant was greasy and was delivered in a paper bag. I requested hot tea and it arrived in a single paper cup, no sugar packs or sweetener. I requested additional hot water, assuming it would be served from a teapot or something similar. It did not arrive with our initial order.When we checked in on a Thursday, staying through Sunday, we were informed by a typed letter at the front desk that the water supply would be shut off between the hours of midnight - 4:30 am, beginning the night we arrived, continuing every night for a week.We received excellent attention and service at the hotel restaurant that Thursday evening.The noise from the water being turned back on throughout the building the next morning was disturbing.Then, the next day there was heavy construction noise which once again was disturbing to us. It went on for over an hour or more (we couldn't take the noise any longer and set out to enjoy Jacksonville, exhausted!).I talked to the manager when checking out on Sunday, we discussed the water issue, construction noise, and misplacement of our car keys at valet parking ($33/day parking), The manager assured me he would make adjustments to our bill as compensation for our below-average experience at the Marriott.We waited until the following Tuesday to request a final bill, since we never received the receipt. There was no adjustment to reflect our awful experience. We expected a better experience on this, our 26th Wedding Annivesrary Trip!

Absolutely terrible

Liked: When it was the Omni. Staff there was professional and courteous
Disliked: I booked a King bed room, I was advised at check in that my king room was given away to another guest and that a double bed was the only available room. I advised the desk clerk that I booked well in advance and paid for a king bed, she stated " oh well, you can go somewhere else If you'd like."
