Brilliant stay in a gem...
Liked: We loved the Marlin. Nothing fancy but all the basics done really well and in a fantastic location. Really friendly staff - attentive but not over fussy and all with smiles on their faces - it makes such a difference. Despite visiting London for a lot of years we’d never been around the lower marsh market area - what a little gem. Great places to eat and drink and a really nice vibe right on the doorstep of Waterloo station. We’ll be back….without the kids!One very very small thing. It would have been nice to have a couple of biscuits in the room to have with a cuppa…but that’s picking holes in what was a great stay at a really good place. I’d highly recommend the Marlin - brilliant value for what we paid and in a great location especially if you’re arriving in to the city at Waterloo.

Liked: The staff where polite and helpful The room was clean and the fact it had a fridge a microwave and hop was greatThe breakfast was good but could be improved on And not a bad location
Disliked: The road noise on both night of our stay police and ambulance sirens going off approximately ever hour it was so loud we checked to see if the windows were open the rooms need better sound proofing The room for breakfast was not large enough for the amount of people

Liked: Clean, pleasant room. Loved the option to make your own tea/coffee in the room. Very comfortable bed. Great location.
Disliked: Everything related to breakfast is disgusting. I recommend buying breakfast at the store (next door) and eating it in your room. These tasteless breakfasts—like sliced cheese and cold cuts—also come with queues. The staff is unhelpful—at night, the doors are opened with a key card, or you have to call. I didn’t have this card when I checked in, and the available staff at the reception didn’t react at all when I was calling. I got into the hotel only because someone else was leaving.
