As part of our continued commitment to enhance our property and service we are currently in the process of renovating our rooms and public areas due for completion spring 2024. During the renovation period work will commence daily from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Just a 10-minute drive from Colchester's historic city center the Marks Tey Hotel offers free WiFi access and free private parking. Guests have free access to the leisure club and there is also an on-site restaurant. The Lifestyle Health & Leisure Club is complimentary to residents during their stay and facilities include a 15-yard indoor swimming pool and steam and sauna rooms fully air-conditioned gymnasium and 2 outdoor tennis courts. Colchester Zoo is within a 10-minute drive of the hotel and the Tiptree Jam Factory can be reached after 20 minutes' drive. Scenic walks can be enjoyed in Constable Country also just a 20-minute drive away. Flatford Mill is a 30-minute car journey away.

Liked: Location, bedroom & breakfast was great
Disliked: Unable to use pool/spa facilities as they were not working, pictures of bar/restaurant/lounge area looked completely different to pictures on booking.com

We would stay there again.

Liked: Breakfast was very good.
Disliked: Milk was missing from the tea tray when we arrived but was quickly supplied by reception.Not all corridor areas have yet been refurbished so original carpet still looks tatty - but refurbished areas are very nice.

Superb

Liked: Beautiful bathrooms and lovely showers. Beds were super comfortable.
Disliked: The swimming pool was out of service during our stay. During to the pump not working.
