As part of our continued commitment to enhance our property and service we are currently in the process of renovating our rooms and public areas due for completion spring 2024. During the renovation period work will commence daily from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Just a 10-minute drive from Colchester's historic city center the Marks Tey Hotel offers free WiFi access and free private parking. Guests have free access to the leisure club and there is also an on-site restaurant. The Lifestyle Health & Leisure Club is complimentary to residents during their stay and facilities include a 15-yard indoor swimming pool and steam and sauna rooms fully air-conditioned gymnasium and 2 outdoor tennis courts. Colchester Zoo is within a 10-minute drive of the hotel and the Tiptree Jam Factory can be reached after 20 minutes' drive. Scenic walks can be enjoyed in Constable Country also just a 20-minute drive away. Flatford Mill is a 30-minute car journey away.

Lovely venue for a lovely...

Liked: Lovely Hotel spacious room and lovely modern bathroom. Breakfast very good options and well presented.

Liked: Clean, up to date room
Disliked: Car parking is charged in addition to the room. £20! This was not clear during booking. If it was, we would not have booked this hotel.Check in que was long, as was check out, due to there only being one person on reception.Very stingy on tea/coffee tray in room. Only one sugar and one small milk. More was given on request, but had to que again at reception to ask.A real shame about the rip off car parking charges.
