Disliked: Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Room Downgrade Without NoticeI stayed at the Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf on April 15th, and unfortunately, it was one of the most stressful hotel experiences I’ve had.After a long journey and just an hour before check-in, I received a call from someone at the hotel telling me it was fully booked and I’d have to be transferred elsewhere. The call was abrupt, unfriendly, and completely unprofessional. I explained that I booked this hotel specifically because of its location next to the airport—I had an early flight the next morning—and I wasn’t willing to change last minute.When I arrived at the hotel, surprisingly, they gave me a room like nothing had happened. No apology, no acknowledgment of the phone call. But instead of the Superior Double Room I booked and paid for, I was given a small, basic standard room with single beds and small blankets—completely unacceptable.One staff member quietly told me that the chaos was due to hotel management accepting a large group for a special party, seemingly at the expense of existing guests.This was a terrible experience:No transparencyPoor communicationRoom downgrade without explanation or compensationGuests clearly not prioritizedI expected much better from a hotel of this standard, especially one connected to an international airport. I do not recommend staying here—especially if you’re looking for reliability, professionalism, and comfort after a long trip.

Liked: If you are flying from Düsseldorf the next day, there is no better location, three minutes walk to the departures hall.Really good breakfast.Comfortable and modern room.
Disliked: Rather expensive, of course because of its location.

Great airport hotel!

Liked: This is our go to hotel when we need to stay at the airport. It’s very very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast too
Disliked: Nothing. Well, maybe need some dumbbells in the gym
