Liked: A classic hotel in a superb location. One of my favourite places.

Disliked: Heating could have been better.Windows single glazed (property probably listed).

Liked: Location is what this hotel relies on to get business… Spa is a plus but a little tired and shabby in places
Disliked: The staff in the bar are just not good enough for a supposed 5* Hotel. Tables left uncleared, staff just walking past you as if you’re invisible. Waiting 15 mins for glass of wine to be brought to table, delivered by a sour faced girl. Shocking really in a place that charges £11 for a drink. Tired looking bathroom with cracked tiles. No available sockets to plug in hairdryer or charger ( had to unplug a lamp! ) No dressing table mirror. And the fake art deco refurb is quite frankly hideous. Queuing like a butlins holiday camp to get a table for breakfast, a long wait even just to get a cup of tea served, extremely slow service. The final pièce de résistance… the two puddles on either side of the front door entrance where guests dogs have cocked their leg on the way in … yes it’s dog friendly, but that’s not acceptable at this 5* Hotel.

Liked: All round great stay, the facilities are easy to access and of a great standard, the room was excellent with a great bed. The team were on hand for any questions we had.

Liked: The location was excellent. Breakfasts were delicious.
Disliked: Room was very small. No where in the room to do hair and make-up. Bathroom was awful. Cracked tiles, no blind on the window, taps moved when you switched them on, paint peeling off the side of the bath. Nothing ‘luxury’ about it.
