Wonderful Historic Place to Stay

Liked: This is a wonderful place to stay. It has a historic, grand feel and beautiful gardens. Our room was really comfortable and had everything we needed, lovely linen and nice toiletries. We had the 5 course set menu for dinner in the restaurant which was very high quality and excellent value for money. Breakfast was included and there were lots of lovely options. Service was friendly, professional and very welcoming. We also had great massages.

Very pleasant stay for a...

Liked: Beautiful grounds. Lovely quiet location. Close to Havelock North township but still felt we were in the countryside. Nice breakfast in a lovely setting.
Disliked: Bed not as comfortable as I’d hoped.

Disliked: Comfy bed... but my one and only small complaint would be that the bed was one where if your partner moves it shakes you awake. A newer mattress has much better stability.
