A fantastic weekend in a...

Liked: The room comfort was fantastic and there was great space. The restaurant and bar facilities were superb and the breakfast was amazing, great value when considering the wide choice and variety with drinks included too. I enjoyed the complimentary drinks offered to us on arrival and the receptionist was lovely and personable while maintaining professionalism - a great balance.
Disliked: This is not the fault of the hotel, but i didn't check if there was a bath, and while the shower was amazing, I like a bath! But i stress it is not the fault of Malmaison, it was my error on not checking the room specification.

Not as good as Edinburgh...

Liked: I have stayed in Mal Maison Edinburgh and Glasgow as well over the last week. When I arrived for breakfast in York, there was no explanation and the man at reception took away the menu when I got to the table. No-one came for my order. I therefore assumed that as I had booked via booking.com that I had only bought a continental breakfast. On checkout I was advised that this wasn't the case.
Disliked: Then people in York (apart from the woman at checkout) are not as friendly as Edinburgh and Glasgow. When you are travelling on your own, a warm welcome is appreciated.
