Great hotel near the Reading...

Liked: It’s very close to the station! Convenient if you want to travel to different areas in the UK.
Disliked: Hygiene can be further improved specially the bathroom amenities.

Unexpected great value.

Liked: The location and the impressive facade of the outside of the building literally across the road from Reading railway station. The warm welcome from the reception staff being late on a Saturday evening. Check in within a minute. Club room was outstanding with more than all the expected luxuries, huge walk in rain shower, fluffy dressing gown and good quality slippers. The bathroom and bedroom amenities were all quality products.The breakfast was unique, a well stocked continental buffet followed by a la carte menu for hot food ordered table side. Excellent food in a calming ambience.
Disliked: The location of the room was at the front of the building. It was Saturday night so busy outside with passing Christmas revelers and noisy sirens well into the early hours. Any hotel in central Reading would likely experience the same over a weekend.
