Exceptional

Liked: The Cell rooms were unreal, we had room 139. Had a great night's sleep. The 18 year old barman in the bar was a lovely lad, really chatty. Talked lots about the hotel. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be staying again.
Disliked: Nothing, all really good

Accidents Happen, but Malmaison Doesn't...

Liked: The hotel is quirky in mostly very good ways, and it's in a spectacular location for exploring Oxford. We have stayed previously and had a positive experience. What follows is, however, seriously problematic, at least in my view.
Disliked: WARNING: Be very circumspect about valet parking. I had just gotten a brand new vehicle--it had 74 miles on it. The valet drug the car along a bollard, scrapping the bottom of all panels from the front wheel well to the rear wheel well and damaging the rim of the front tyre. Accidents happen. But Malmasion has been incredibly disrespectful in its handling of the situation. That started with me having to chase someone down when I noticed the problem--it was literally parked against the bollard, so it wasn't hard to spot. One would have imagined that, immediately after the incident, someone would have reached out to me and proactively worked to address the situation. But no. It's been nearly two months with nary a word from them. To be clear, there's absolutely zero question about the evidence--it's recorded on CCTV. Nevertheless, they have not only not dealt with repairs to my vehicle yet, but they have not apologised, offered even a modicum of goodwill or a gesture of kindness, or been particularly timely in responding to my requests for updates. Suffice it to say, this is one of the worst customer service blunders I've ever experienced. I doubt that I will ever stay at a Malmaison hotel again, and I would encourage anyone thinking of doing so to think twice.

Disliked: The shower was a bit temperamental and with most hotels the bathrooms are poorly designed

Good location and great hotel,...

Liked: Location is excellent and this is a go-to hotel when visiting Oxford. It is very much in the Malmaison style and very 'funky' due to the nature of the building.
Disliked: There is parking but this is limited, however, they were very good and let me stay longer than I should have so really positive point.Had to get housekeeping in to sort out the mass of hair in my shower plug that was stopping it from draining! When I returned back to my room the shower worked and the hair was gone - I knew this because all the hair was still floating in my toilet bowl!
