Business interview and night away

Liked: The food was good and George's service was great, very attentive to my allergies and he went above and beyond. The room was comfy, cosy and I loved the black out curtains and night light in the bathroom was fab. Would definitely stop again.

Disappointed, location is great but...

Disliked: We got upgrade (that we didn’t as for) we fought that was great, the room smelled like cigarette ashes, we addressed that right away and they tried to fix that. Next day we get a call from receptionist that we need to move rooms as soon as possibleyy to a different one.. that destroyed our evening plans, it took us a while to move our stuff. Reception manager didn’t even try make this up for us, she reacted like it was nothing, maybe it is a standard for them to treat customers like that.

Liked: really liked this hotel - my usual place is the edwardian round the corner but i had booked the daughter in here for a Ball she was going to nearby and then me and my wife ended up with another room and had a night out. This is likely my new favourite hotel in Manchester. Really clean and fabulous modern, spacious rooms with nice clean and well functioning bathrooms. Check-in staff were attentive and helpful - bar staff just the same - lovely team. it was even a reasonably priced bar! - really enjoyed our stay and will return.
Disliked: not much to dislike to be honest!Really picking on points here - but the dimming light switches seemed to have a mind of their own and the heating controls for (i think) room, bathroom floor and bathroom towel rail (all separate controls, i think..) had to be the most confusing thing - maybe i'm just getting old.
