Pleasing stay, great location.

Liked: Stunning building, rooms are a great size. Great facilities.
Disliked: Had 2 club rooms, reverse side of navy fur blankets had large white marks on - looked like bodily fluid. Explained to evening staff member and was asked to just report it in the morning.

Overpriced, despite the stylish decor

Liked: The décor is always lovely in the Malmaison. And it's very central, close to the train station. Decent room service menu if you arrive late.
Disliked: Very noisy hotel. Constant sounds of water pipes and people stomping around. I guess it's an old building. The hot tap in the bathroom sink didn't really work and the towel heater looks about 20 years old. For the price of the room, I would have at least expected a bottle of water to be included! Overpriced compared to some of the other nearby hotels (DoubleTree is much better value for similar quality).

Faded glory. Disappointing for the...

Liked: Beautiful building, excellent location. Bed was clean and very comfortable.
Disliked: Room was very tired and although it was relatively clean, the fixtures and fittings were in a state of bad repair. There was a stain on the carpet, the bath panel was damaged, the glass in the picture frame was broken and the shaver socket didn’t work. Not what I expected for the price- very bad value for money.
