Liked: Comfortable bed and good sized room.
Disliked: The bar was quite chilly and the menus were very difficult to read because of small print.

Great location for Dundee, just...

Liked: It’s a great location in Dundee. Nice building. Big rooms. Love the Beano artwork.
Disliked: It’s a bit rough round the edges - more style than substance, so it just feels a bit shoddy and in need of higher quality finishes. It’s still my preferred hotel in Dundee if I can get it at a good price, but it’s not worth 4-star money. I don’t think I’ve ever been when they didn’t have piles of boxes at reception either, which adds to a tired, bit down at heel feel. This time, I was put in a room at the back and there was some kind of mechanical noise going on all night that made it very difficult to get to sleep. Maybe external fans of some kind. I called to reception and they did offer to move me and did seem to know about the noise, so I’m not sure why they didn’t just avoid putting people in those rooms in the first place.

Great location but parking expensive

Liked: Great location however parking opposite was very costly would help if a reduced rate was offered by the hotel
Disliked: The room we were located looked over a brick wall and onto other rooms….. dated and dirty, could do with a lick of paint. Bathroom dirty and standard of cleaning not up to a standard I would expect

Wouldn't come back

Disliked: Poor lighting !!! nowhere to sit only one chair..had to sit on bed to have coffee not good

Pleasant stop over in Dundee

Liked: Bed was really comfortable. Good location, close to the station, restaurants and shops
Disliked: The room was a bit stuffy. Hard to control the room temperature. Service in the restaurant was quite matter of fact - not the attention to detail one expects from a hotel in the Malmaison chain.

Disliked: Staff not that friendly. Refused room service because someone had called jn sick and couldn't leave the front desk unmanned? Not really our problem, to be honest. Not a great service experience for the price we paid and to upgrade. A bit disappointing
