A thoroughly enjoyable stay

Liked: We had a lovely night staying at Malmaison whilst in Cheltenham for work. Our room was well equipped and comfortable with a lovely big bay window. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. The bathroom was a tiny bit small, but it had everything you'd need. Be very careful around the heated towel rails, I accidentally touched it when climbing out of the shower and it was scalding hot. We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant (amazing steak and fantastic negronis) and then relaxed over a glass of wine and game of Monopoly in the comfort of the bar area. All the staff were lovely too. Recommended for when you feel like treating yourself.
Disliked: Just the accidental collision with a very hot towel rail

Good but room for improvement

Liked: Location was good and the bed was comfortable with high ceilings on the first floor.
Disliked: Some of the staffs at the front desk and restaurant did not provide the basics. Rooms could have been cleaned better.

Disliked: Basically the bed sheets had big yellow stains on them ( i have photos) ... I have complained and this has been totally ignored, even though I have followed up with the management it has again been ignored.. Very poor..atory

Liked: The location was lovely and the hotel itself was nice
Disliked: Our room was absolutely tiny. It was definitely not fit for 2 people. The shower room was sloped so you banged your head in the shower. The shower door leaked, the room was absolutely tiny, you couldn’t have one person in the shower and one brushing their teeth as there was only just room to open the shower door, you had to them sit down on the toilet to be able to manoeuvre the shower door closed to then get out of the bathroom. We got woken up at 7am from the cleaning ladies opening the laundry cupboard next to our room and shouting loudly to each other. I sat down in a chair in the bar area that was broken and it nipped my arm between the 2 pieces of wood that were hanging off.

Liked: Lovely building and on site parking, breakfast was nice
Disliked: There was a problem with the hot water during our stay which meant we could not shower or bath before we went out for the evening, staff were not interested in communicating when it would be resolved and offered no apology

Disliked: Toilet was a bit dirty but sorted no problem. The lady on the desk was horrified and was sorted immediately.
