Mallard Grange is a 16th-century farmhouse set half a mile from the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey. The market town of Ripon famous for Newby Hall and the stunning cathedral is only 10 minutes' drive from the property. These generously spacious rooms are decorated to high standards. They boast an private bathroom with bathrobes and free toiletries a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. 2 rooms are on the ground floor the other rooms are in the Farm House and accessible via a winding staircase. Liked: The breakfast was superb. There was huge choice and nothing was too much trouble. The quality of the food couldn't be bettered.The very large room was always warm and comfortable. The beds were the biggest I have seen.The B&B was very close to the main entrance to Fountains Abbey. (But note it is closed on Fridays in Winter).
Disliked: The entrance was a sharp turn from the road and easy to miss at first.

Liked: Beautiful rooms in idyllic setting. Great attention to detail and wonderful breakfasts. Maggie is extremely warm and welcoming and a great source of advice on the local area. Highly recommend.
Disliked: Nothing. Everything was beyond expectation.

We look forward to returning...

Liked: a peaceful haven just outside Ripon, Our room was in a converted 18th century smithy, beautiful shower room, extra large comfortable bed, windows look out onto open countryside, breakfast was served across the courtyard in the main farmhouse, good selection on the menu, full Yorkshire was exceptional, beautifully cooked and very pleasant lady servingand looking after you.
Disliked: Nothing
